Amusement Park

I entered the amusement park
With an enthused heart
I was amused at the start
But got confused in the dark.

Started on this ride
With eyes well wide
Now them eyes well tied
And I feel hell by my side.

Something whispers in my ear
What were you thinking coming in here?
Its breath is stinking reeking of fear
Yet curiosity insists on dragging me near.

I ignore my minds defenses
For this darkness is quite relentless
This park offers certain adventures
While hiding a lot of expenses.

Once you’re on, it’s hard getting off
Having too much fun, or the rides made you soft
So you stay consumed on a feeling of being lost
Merely hoping the thrills been worth it, when the wheels come off.
