Disregard Him

Disregard those things he said
He was just letting off some steam
Just words of a wounded man
Most of which, he did not mean.

The man was hurting deep inside
Suffering from an aching heart
Foolishly hoping to regain some pride
Or just make the bite less sharp.

Man had never been so sure
Proved to never be more wrong
And that’s tough for any man to endure
Even ones that think they’re strong.

Disregard those things he said
He had one too many in the pub
Just returning alone to his bed
Wishing instead, he was returning to love.
