When It Comes To Love

I done put
My heart on the line
Like, Maybe
One, Too many times.

But I lay it down
Anytime I feel like it again
For when it comes to love
I’m a man among men.

Now you might guard your heart
And you might think you’re strong
But for my part
I might think you’re wrong.

Now you might think I’m soft
As sometimes people do
But if you cross my loved ones
You might find that’s not true.

You can kick me when I’m down
I always get back up
When the world pushes me around
I make my own luck.

You can take your pot shots
I let em’ hop off my chest
And I come out the next day
Smiling with the best.

I got friends where people don’t
Cause I do things others won’t do
And if you’re in my heart
I do most anything for you.

When I hit the streets
The streets they give me love
Cause I treat other people
The way other people should.

If you’re in my heart
You might treat it with respect
For the kind of love I offer
You just might find hard to get.

I’m a man of pride
But sometimes sacrifice is good
For if you can’t sacrifice it for someone
You know that that’s not love.

I done put my heart
On the line
Like, Maybe
One, too many times.

And I lay it down
Anytime, I feel like it again
For when it comes to love
I’m a man among men.
