Harvest Your Own

You’re better than that

What are you doing?

You’re better than that

You’ve got to keep moving.

Dedicate yourself

To what your heart wants

Stop offering your help

To every lost cause.

Though well intended

It can act as a noose

For somewhere embedded

In your mind’s an excuse.

Justifying your distance

From what you aim to achieve

We can help others much more

Through the lives that we lead.

Chase your own goals

Harvest your seeds

You have little control

Of those always in need.

What you think is help

May be exactly the opposite

Learning to fend for yourself

Is the only real profit.

So lead by the choices

You make for yourself

If they do the same thing

Maybe then can help help.
