The tide comes rushing
Flushing out my past
Its affect can be quite crushing
As it rusts what I hoped would last.
It stains and claims my memory
As it strips and batters my soul
Though when it’s done I’m given new energy
Feeling stronger regaining control.
In order to realise a true sense of freedom
Sometimes it helps to come from a time felt trapped
When something or someone has stifled your dreaming
You see a world of opportunity when their grip has relaxed.
What comes and feels a curse
In time often reveals a blessing
For once you know you have experienced your worst
That curse, then suddenly, feels quite refreshing.
