Who Wants To Live Forever?

Who wants to live forever?
Hmm, Not I
I want to burn bright
And then gracefully die.

I like the way we die
It teaches me to live
To take nothing for granted
And to others always give.

I like the way we die
Though I hate to see others go
It reminds my weary mind
Every soul living is a soul on death row.

Death teaches me to forgive
Love others through their faults
To learn to accept what is
Take things with a pinch of salt.

Death teaches me to love
Death teaches me to move on
Live and let live
And so on and so on.

Knowing you’re going to die
Should make you run into what scares you
If you knew you’d live forever
What the fuck is daring you?

Who wants to live forever?
Let even life become mundane
Loss of life teaches us to burn bright
For we are all just dying flames.

Who wants to live forever?
Till even beauty loses its might
For if you knew it was there with you forever
You might just begin to hate its sight.

Knowing you’re going to die
Means even pain is brief
Should have a little love for pain
Let it remind us of the bigger thief.

For all you feel and see
Is all you’ll ever do or be
I don’t know about you
But that makes even pain, a little refreshing to me.

Who wants to live forever?
Hmm, Not I
I want to burn bright
And then gracefully die.
