Young Woman

Young woman
Why do you do that to yourself?
So worried about your looks
Don’t see how you look to someone else.

Young woman
Why do you torture your own soul?
Deny all that is good for you
All that can make you whole.

Young lady
What way do you see yourself?
This is not a life to lead
You must see that first or we can’t help.

Young lady
How have they got into your mind?
That you would treat yourself this way
Hope someday they’ll treat you kind.

Young girl
What way do you perceive this world?
We only get the one dance
With very few twirls.

Young girl
Your life is precious don’t you see?
And you must treat yourself this way
Or the gift that’s yours will cease to be.

Who Wants To Live Forever?

Who wants to live forever?
Hmm, Not I
I want to burn bright
And then gracefully die.

I like the way we die
It teaches me to live
To take nothing for granted
And to others always give.

I like the way we die
Though I hate to see others go
It reminds my weary mind
Every soul living is a soul on death row.

Death teaches me to forgive
Love others through their faults
To learn to accept what is
Take things with a pinch of salt.

Death teaches me to love
Death teaches me to move on
Live and let live
And so on and so on.

Knowing you’re going to die
Should make you run into what scares you
If you knew you’d live forever
What the fuck is daring you?

Who wants to live forever?
Let even life become mundane
Loss of life teaches us to burn bright
For we are all just dying flames.

Who wants to live forever?
Till even beauty loses its might
For if you knew it was there with you forever
You might just begin to hate its sight.

Knowing you’re going to die
Means even pain is brief
Should have a little love for pain
Let it remind us of the bigger thief.

For all you feel and see
Is all you’ll ever do or be
I don’t know about you
But that makes even pain, a little refreshing to me.

Who wants to live forever?
Hmm, Not I
I want to burn bright
And then gracefully die.

Want To Scream

Doesn’t it make you want to scream
Tear your hair out at night
As the world applauds the obscene
And the obscene lauds the light.

When those in the highest places
Feed you what you know is lies
And the world applauds their tastelessness
And the shit deceives the flies.

Doesn’t it twist and turn your stomach
Until you barely hold down your food
How the majority always seem outnumbered
Beneath the few from which their ruled.

When man can be stripped of dignity
Forced out of his home
And the world offers little sympathy
For this man worked to the bone.

When all you’ve worked for can be taken
Shaken from your grasp
And it’s those that done the breaking
Do the taking to wipe their ass.

When our most prided values are lost
Batted away like vermin
And the vermin push on at any cost
And the world just keeps on turning.

When wars are fought behind a veiled cause
Man is killed like some would a fly
And the world barely takes time to pause
For this is nothing new in humanities eye.

When ignorance is viewed as bliss
Thoughts are rarely given time
Victims applaud in an oblivious mist
As the criminals resolve to solve the crime.

Do You Miss Him?

Do you miss him he said
His words hit me like lead
Do you miss him I thought
And in my thoughts I got lost.

My mind floated over mountains
Breezed over sun soaked valleys
Paid no mind to swooshing fountains
Crashed to a stop in a sun starved alley.

My eyes dived through the darkness
In the hope of finding light
For light had departed
And all it left was night.

Beautiful Misery

It’s a beautiful misery
That splashes my window pane
Such a beautiful misery
Life’s memories can contain.

Like my memory, inside I’m trapped
Afraid of exposure, of getting splashed
If I let it out, might not get back
Afraid of closure, so it stays trapped.

Through rain drops, I view the street
Through rain drops, moving feet
They move, while I lose sleep
Replaying memories, I choose to keep.

Stepping From Dark

Keep trying to step from darkness
Somehow it keeps pulling back
As people keep pulling my heart strings
And I haven’t the strength to let them snap.

We’re responsible for ourselves
Is my minds revolving thought
And if we don’t accept and give self help
We can and do get quickly lost.

Keep slipping falling back
Trying to lift others up
We’re responsible for our own traps, I know that
But some ties are too hard to cut.

But it’s messing me up in other ways
As I don’t do things the way I should
Sometimes things are so hard to communicate
That when we try, we mess them up.

I keep losing the things I care about
Some lose themselves, some I scare off
As I try to step from hell, regain my whereabouts
And run like hell, till hell wears off.
