Everybody needs their comforts
Everybody needs that little help
Everybody needs a lover
Everybody needs somebody other than self.

We all need that bit of affection
That warmth of human touch
To offer our souls protection
When this world gets a little much.

We all need that bit of tenderness
When this world is feeling cold
The warmth of anothers kindness
To give us youth when we’re feeling old.

We all need that little something
That something something good
You can call it what you like
Me, I call it love.

Now you can go at the world
Attack it like a machine
Pretend that you don’t care
About your soul or about your dreams.

And you can go ahead
As your walking tall
Say you do it by yourself
And to hell to hell with them all.

But to me that’s just a lie
A lie time never fails to prove
And if you’re not true to your inside
It’s what’s inside that you lose.

And you will have this exterior
Gradually looking ever more fake
One day you may look back on your time
Feeling that time had so much waste.

So go out and feed your soul
You go fill it up with love
And when it comes your time to go
At least your soul be feeling good.

This world can treat you cold enough
Don’t you start acting cold too
We all need other souls to touch
That’s what gets our souls through.

So you go do your thing
First be true to you in what you do
But if you start feeling like too much machine
Ask yourself, is there someone or something, better out there for you?

‘Do you believe in love?’, he said
‘Yeah man, I do’
He nearly laughed off his head
Like I’m a damn fool.

Love is a choice you see
So at me go ahead have your fun
I listen to the voice in me
That don’t mean I’m dumb.

I can act selfishly
Can easily think of just number one
Sometimes that’s even just how I be
When I’m enjoying my freedom.

But I can act differently
And that’s because of love son
Rare times I find someone I love as much as me
But I’ve a little love for everyone.

I know there’s love you see
For I’ve felt it deep inside
And it’s made a damn fool of me
As for it, I’ve even sacrificed my pride.

Now I’ve had a lot of good things happen to me
Because of love I’ve gave
And I’ve had some bad things happen to me
When others aren’t as brave.

But I know there’s love you see
For I give it everyday
That’s just the choice I’ve made for me
Seems you’ve made yours too, and that’s okay.

I’ve been dealing with a lot of stresses
Don’t always have me acting or thinking right.

Your generosity and humour
Have caught me a little unawares.

Helping to refresh a tired mind.

How are you tonight?
Are you lonely? Are you alright?
Life can grind you down
It ain’t easy love I know
As you deal with the world’s madness
And all it asks, is you never let your sadness show
You aren’t supposed to breakdown
Supposed to hide it when you cry
And when you’re at your lowest
You are supposed to live a lie
So how are you dear child?
For children is all we are
And every child is allowed to cry
As every wound takes time to heal or scar
So how are you feeling?
Do not fear to let those feelings out
For however you go about the healing
This is what life’s all about
There is no shame in pain
There is no shame in tears
Happiness is what we want to attain
Though it’s hard to sustain through the years
We all have our highs and lows
And not all of us deal with them the same
But try to be as accepting of the highs
As you are receptive to the pain.

For in our mind is greatness
And in our heart is fight
And the only way to attain it
Is to walk through the dark
And run when there’s light.

I don’t know what’s what anymore
My head’s in a spin
I don’t know what to want anymore
Or what it means to win.

I don’t know what’s victory
I don’t know the taste of success
So many things they say should make me feel worth more
Make me feel worth that little bit less.

I don’t know where we are heading to
In fact I don’t know much at all
Sometimes I do my own head in too
So many thoughts in my minds walls.

I don’t know where I’m going to
Or if I’ll forever walk alone
I don’t know what time will do
Or where I’ll build my home.

I don’t claim to know more than you
I don’t claim much at all
All I know is as long as there’s life in you
You have a chance to dance is all.

I am looking at the moon
And the light it provides
I’m looking at the stars
Feeling time is on my side.

I am looking at my friends
Smiling deep within
Been laughing to nights end
Today it’s all win win.

Turn to bask at the moon
Trying to grasp distance and size
Humbled by the cosmos great tune
And my being blessed, a part in the ride.

Slowly look back to my friends
Laughing at will, beneath the distant moons light
Laugh at all I can’t comprehend, and in large part to them
Roar through this pen, ‘I FUCKING LOVE LIFE’.
