Those Who Diss It

Those who diss it
Often wish it
Hide that they miss it
Deny they solicit.

It seems here
There streams a fear
In which dreams appear
To seem insincere.

Those who doubt love
Are not those without good
Might embrace it if they could
Who’s to say if they should.

For some who doubt it
Merely fear it
That they might love
And get nowhere near it.

For there is nothing more uninvited
Than a burning love unrequited
Nothing more entirely fearsome
To make the heart grow tired and wearisome.

Though when returned, there’s nothing more exciting
As refreshing as it can be blinding
Though when the time is right, it’s so enlightening
The kind of love, surely not worth fighting.

Working Man

I’m a working man
Putting money in my pocket
I’m a working man
I’m a rise, I’m a rocket.

I’m a working man
You can see it in my eyes
I’m a working man
With no family ties.

I’m a working man
I’m a man on a mission
I’m a working man
You can taste my ambition.

I’m a working man
Worked my whole life through
I’m a working man
It work for me, I work for you.

I’m a working man
And I’m a work these hands
Until these hands
Have a better hand.

I’m a working man
Watch my eyes
I’m a working man
Watch me rise.

I’m a working man
Putting money in my pocket
I’m a working man
I’m a rise, I’m a rocket.

I Want The One

I want the one
Then not one more
The one I can plan with
The one which to explore.
Explore the interior
Become one in the physical
Know no superior
Live a real miracle.
One I can laugh with
Tell all my truth
In company feel comfort
In company feel loose.
Play not the game
Of who wins the most
But how two together
Can better us both.
The one who’s a friend
Before they’re a lover
When time that you spend
Is a pleasure, not a lie you both cover.
One who is real
Wise to the fake
Says what they feel
Not to impress or gain grace.
It may not exist
But I’ll not settle for less
I’ll choose only by person
Then get the rest.
I want the one
Then not one more
The one I can plan with
The one which to explore.

Rolled Notes

In this room of rolled notes
Lies a room of old hopes
Should we pull over are we all dopes?
Is the party over should we get our coats?
My mind floats
In this room full of dreamers
Full of misdemeanours
Our dealer takes us to the cleaners
With uppers, downers, and inbetweeners
Having fun, we are all young
Adult life has just begun
A new age is only starting
Packed our cases all set for embarking
On the journey of life
Our dreams spiral the wind like a kite
Will they stray left or sway right?
Will they leave the string and take flight?
Will they run riot in a gust?
Or will they become quiet and combust?
The dreams we lust float high
But will they just float by?
Will the fountain run dry?
As the pressure’s mounting
Will we become too shy?
The thought revolves
Around the walls
Will we evolve
When opportunity calls.

When opportunity knocks
Will we pull up our socks
And move the blocks
That aim to stop
For we are reaching that age
Where we have to progress a stage
Can we write the page
If we stand up and engage
Life, can we create and dictate
The way our fate shape?
Should we accept the food on our plate
Even though we don’t like the taste?
Remain still
And let time kill our will
Or look beyond the windowsill
And see the life we want to fulfil
Take action
For these notes aren’t adding
They’re subtracting
Might of strayed a fraction
Judge us on our reaction
Will we be reborn
Brew up a storm
Escape the norm
And outperform
Everyone’s expectations
Combine our imaginations
And achieve our aspirations
With blind dedication.

When life presents a groove
Will we find our strength and move
With those who are driven
Make a decision
To better our living
And start bidding
Farewell
To our enclosing shell
And begin to tell
Of the hopes that fell
Voice your dreams
Voice with screams
Voice your core
Voice with roar
And let hopes soar
Like they did before
Let them resurface
Regain their purpose
Let our life have meaning
Cause I can’t help feeling
Sometimes
As we pump our systems full of lines
We’ve fallen victim to the times
And in so doing fallen a little behind
But now we’ve told our hopes
We unfold our notes
Grab our coats
Stand at the door
Unaware
Of what lies in store
Though you can see in our stare
We know there’s more
And if we dare
We might just soar.
Now’s the time.

Do What’s Right For You

Thank you for your time
May time be good to you
If I seem passive or blind
Know it’s out of love for you.

Go do what’s right for you
That’s how life should be
Just because I don’t speak as others do
Doesn’t mean that I don’t see.

Love yourself as you should
Love and live without regret
It’s good to see you doing good
I always knew, you’d not reached your best.

Chase your goals
Chase your dreams
Feed your soul
And let it be seen.

The Cost

You used to tell me all your dreams
From the night before
They might of never made sense
But mine never made more.

Shared your most private of thoughts
Showed so many emotions
No matter how cross
Always managed to remain open.

Now as time ticks on
And feelings disappear
I realise the value of what is gone
To which the cost seems ever dear.
