May The World Dance With You

We never gave ourselves a chance
Suppose that makes me a fool
Forever to be a paper romance
While I forever look uncool.

You got the world at your feet
Make it dance to your tune
You deserve that in the least
So it ain’t doom and gloom.

You got that bit of magic
You got that bit of spark
You got that bit of fire
You got that bit of heart.

You got that self respect
You got that bit of steel
You got that bit of neck
And most of all you’re real.

So with the world dance
And don’t forget to let your heart dance too
And may your life be a sweet romance
And may it bring out the best in you.

You got so many gifts
I hope you know that, I really do
And nothing would make me happier
Than seeing the world recognise it too.

You don’t find your love in me
I hope you find it in someone new
And may you dance with the world
And may the world always dance with you.

Making Memories

Taking a trip
Destination unknown
Two souls man the ship
So they don’t travel alone.

The waters will get fierce
The winds will blow hard
There is sure to be tears
There is bound to be scars.

There is a chance the ship will sink
Known yet still set sail
Not on those thoughts do they like to think
More on the highs upon the trail.

Taking up the anchor
They give rise to chance
Knowing it’s better to fight the weather together
As they sail beneath the skies, upon the sea of high romance.

She Labeled Me

She labeled me a lads lad
My past was unable to deny that
So I tabled my heart and my futures right path
She said maybe well intended, but may be mere fables despite that.

I adored her she knew my stance
Though there was no going forward with this romance
She couldn’t afford to take the chance
On mere words when her heart’s in the balance.

Weighed heavy on heart and soul
Wanted a bigger part, it was beyond my control
I couldn’t even start the role
For her heart had become guarded, had a different goal.

So I drew back, drew my breath
Had to believe that, she knew best
Her heart is true and I love it no less
In fact my love grew, if I were to confess.

Heart feels battered, that’s for sure
Ripped and tattered, no foreseeable cure
I’m tired shattered, but I will endure
For her happiness matters, to me much more.

Tying My Shoelace

Tying my shoelace and I think of you. My memories are blurred
and jumbled, and sometimes I don’t know if some are real,
or just dreamt up, or half real and half dreamt up, but I remember this one,
and it’s real, and in remembering anew, just now,
I’m hit by the realisation
that this is the last distinct memory I have of you fathering me in learning something new.
In the upstairs bathroom of your mothers house, soon to be my home, unknown to us both.

Tying my shoelace, thinking of you.

Blessed With Curves

Blessed with curves
She’ll test your nerves
She’s a chest superb
Leave you stretched for words.

Not an eye doesn’t glance
Though they’ll try have a dance
Most guys don’t have a chance
She declines most who advance.

She’s seductive on a whole new level
So destructive she could be the devil
Many instructed never to meddle
Not many has stuck to it, break free like a rebel.

She takes pleasure in how easy they tumble
How much they endeavor for a sleazy fumble
She often teases, then watches them crumble
As they go to speak and meekly mumble.

She has that effect on men
She has it time and again
She just having a good time my friend
Hope she’s pleased by one before the good times end.

Little Something

Just a little something
I thought should be told
I’m just a little terrified
Of getting old
A little petrified
Of what the future holds
I treasure my memories
Like a rich man treasures gold.

I treasure these youthful moments
And hope they last
I live for the present
But the present will soon be the past
So during my life
I treasure my memories
And in it’s end, hope my life, meant enough
For a few, to remember me.
