Be Somebody Else

Go on
Be somebody else
Waste your time
Forget yourself
You won’t move forward
You will just fall deeper
There will be no reward
You will just feel cheaper.

Make your choice
It’s yours to make
Ignore your voice
For as long as it takes
To wake up
And recognise
To take up someone else’s dream
Facilitates your owns demise.

Move On Quick

Move along quick
Move along fast
Girl don’t like you
Leave her in the past.

Let others in
You been holding out
Once you let them in
Might prove a better shout.

Open up your heart
Close it to the past
For only meetings in the middle
Are the meetings meant to last.

Put a smile on your face
With someone who truly cares
Enjoy life’s sweet embrace
Release yourself from theirs.

Feelings drive you crazy
When they are not returned
But once you know that for certain
Feelings are quickly burned.

World is an oyster
The world is opportunity
And once a door is closed
Open doors are all you should view and see.

Be prepared to look a fool
To be sure of another
Life’s a crazy ride
So be crazy my sisters and brothers.

Some might not see what they’re missing
Some might not even miss at all
But if you see all you’re missing is a fiction
You see all you’re really missing is a ball.

Go out and have your fun
Once sure what’s done is done
And never fear to look a fool
To make sure your heart’s not one.

My heart’s always guided me
And that’s how it’ll always be
But when certain that it’s free
Excitement is all I feel and see.

Now time to advance and dance
To a completely different tune
No regrets if there’s no missed chance
Heart must be sure of that, before for others it makes room.

Loneliness Is Killing Me

The loneliness is killing me
Since you went away.
The silence keeps on grilling me
And I’ve no words to say.
The empty space is filling me
With thoughts of yesterday.
Visions of you are chilling me
In the places we use to play.

My mind’s caught up, feeling a little scared
Trying to look like everything is ok.
I go to talk, then realise your not there
It’s funny the tricks the mind can play.
You won’t hear jokes or laughing round here
They don’t see the light of day.
I get all choked up, then swear I don’t care
Christ I’m even lying to me.

The Get Go

Funny how time changes as we grow
Never thought it would turn out like this from the get go
Sometimes wish life would move just a little more slow
Never pictured it like this from the get go.

The get go
Is when I took my very first breath
So clean, so pure
What did life mean
So unsure
We can only dream
Of what we have to endure
Babies eyes
Closed, world would soon open wide
Parents pride
Pray God will stand by this baby’s side
Both parents proud
Mama quiet, she so tired,
Daddies fired, so he’s loud
Celebratory cigars
Meet the lads, few jars
Belt out a few bars
In rejoice to the stars
Marriage, first oath sworn
Carriage, welcome first born
In the form of a male
Will this ship sail
Or will this ship fail
Fall victim to the ale
Or scale every fence and every rail
Every hill and every mountain
As the pressure on production rates are mounting
I’ve got dreams I’m counting
There’s more resources in this fountain
There’s a lot of people mouthing
A lot of people doubting
This life just begun
A lot of hopes laid upon this newborn son.

The get go
Is when I took my very first breath
So clean, so pure
What did life mean
So unsure
We can only dream
Of what we have to endure
Nothing’s as it seems
In life nothing’s sure
Born in different circles
Destined to follow different paths
Sometimes we’ve little bearing
On how our life maps
Some born lucky
Some born healthy
Others born unlucky
Others born unhealthy
Some born poor
Others born rich
Some given little chance
Some given unimaginable gifts
The world opens her doors
We breathe breath into our lungs
This is where it all started
This is where we all begun.

The get go
When I took my very first breath
So clean, so pure
What did life mean
So unsure
We can only dream
Of what we have to endure.
