You Ever Have Your World Shake

You ever have your world shake
With a thundering cracking blow
And saw a life in which you wanted to partake
Become a life you must in many ways let go.

You ever get some bad news
That kicks you down and hits your chest
That makes you reassess and tests your values
Offers a fight against getting depressed.

You ever have your world shake
And it’s so easy to get low
There’s a truth you can’t escape
And there’s no hiding place to go.

You ever have a pain surge through
Your body till your heart feels a staggering blow
You can’t help but think it don’t deserve to
But deserve has little to do with the world we know.

Things just falling into place
Start falling out of synch
And you must change and reshape
The things you need and how you think.

For happiness is rarely delivered
Though we can find it in someone else
More often than not
We’ve to find it in ourselves.

We’ve to take things as they are
Face the reality of the day
Digest, and go face reality
In an optimistic way.

Happiness is not for sale
Happiness stems from inside
And you must find it in yourself
When somewhere else it’s died.

You ever have your world shake
You got to shake the world too
We got to make our own breaks
Especially, when the world breaks you.

Loneliness Is Killing Me

The loneliness is killing me
Since you went away.
The silence keeps on grilling me
And I’ve no words to say.
The empty space is filling me
With thoughts of yesterday.
Visions of you are chilling me
In the places we use to play.

My mind’s caught up, feeling a little scared
Trying to look like everything is ok.
I go to talk, then realise your not there
It’s funny the tricks the mind can play.
You won’t hear jokes or laughing round here
They don’t see the light of day.
I get all choked up, then swear I don’t care
Christ I’m even lying to me.

Wanna Write, Might Ignite

I wanna write something
I wanna light something
I wanna fight something
I might ignite something
If I find the right button
I might just push something
I hear a hush sudden
I feel a rush coming
Some say I’m good for nothing
Just like words ain’t good for nothing
If you say them and do nothing
Then they don’t count for nothing
But I want to amount to something
If there is something to mount I’m jumping
I’m ready to flounce i’m rushing
My hearts ready to bounce no cushion
I’m pumping it out I’m flushing
Away all the doubts they’re gushing
Leaving, heaving the mutton
Now I’m heaving like I’m breathing in nothing
Lungs squeezing pushing and sucking
Pleading to suck onto something
But they are not easing nothing is coming
Though they’re not conceding no towel to throw in
They keep heaving knowing something will blow in

Some speak of optimism
Some reek of pessimism
Some deep in cynicism
Some heap the criticism
It’s a prison they’re building
So true wisdom doesn’t listen
For if it listen could end up with them
Don’t be a victim let it fuel your system
All thats written is the past
And time be ticking fast
So don’t listen let them pass
Just dismiss them let them hear you laugh
Let the laugh come from chuckle
Pull the slacks up fast the buckle
Dash past that crass knuckle
They talk trash trying to scuttle
Flash your ass in your rebuttal
It’s them who harassed so need to be subtle.
Believe in yourself
Leave everyone else to speak for themselves.
I feel a hush sudden
I feel a rush coming
I wanna write something
Might just ignite something.

Nice Guys Finish Last

Ooh you better watch your ass
Don’t you know that nice guys finish last

They say the minute
You tell her you love her
Is the minute
She’ll look for another
The minute she feels sure
The relationship is secure
Is the minute you lose your allure
And you’ll be left to rot in the sewer
The minute she feels adored
Is the minute she’ll start getting bored
You offer safety so she can afford
To go out and be explored
They say it’s a game
When she wins your affection
She switches the game
In another direction
You still remain
For you offer protection
Still in the frame
Cause you’ve got a connection
But the connection keeps fading
While she’s escapading
All the while masquerading
In the love your bathing her in
You’re trying your hardest
to believe its’ not true
She use’s your ears as verbal targets
You let her words obscure your view
They say love is blind
We don’t see what others see
So if you’re wise let others words echo your mind
To at least a small degree.

Oooh you better watch your ass
Don’t you know nice guys finish last.

The Get Go

Funny how time changes as we grow
Never thought it would turn out like this from the get go
Sometimes wish life would move just a little more slow
Never pictured it like this from the get go.

The get go
Is when I took my very first breath
So clean, so pure
What did life mean
So unsure
We can only dream
Of what we have to endure
Babies eyes
Closed, world would soon open wide
Parents pride
Pray God will stand by this baby’s side
Both parents proud
Mama quiet, she so tired,
Daddies fired, so he’s loud
Celebratory cigars
Meet the lads, few jars
Belt out a few bars
In rejoice to the stars
Marriage, first oath sworn
Carriage, welcome first born
In the form of a male
Will this ship sail
Or will this ship fail
Fall victim to the ale
Or scale every fence and every rail
Every hill and every mountain
As the pressure on production rates are mounting
I’ve got dreams I’m counting
There’s more resources in this fountain
There’s a lot of people mouthing
A lot of people doubting
This life just begun
A lot of hopes laid upon this newborn son.

The get go
Is when I took my very first breath
So clean, so pure
What did life mean
So unsure
We can only dream
Of what we have to endure
Nothing’s as it seems
In life nothing’s sure
Born in different circles
Destined to follow different paths
Sometimes we’ve little bearing
On how our life maps
Some born lucky
Some born healthy
Others born unlucky
Others born unhealthy
Some born poor
Others born rich
Some given little chance
Some given unimaginable gifts
The world opens her doors
We breathe breath into our lungs
This is where it all started
This is where we all begun.

The get go
When I took my very first breath
So clean, so pure
What did life mean
So unsure
We can only dream
Of what we have to endure.
